There's another music festival happening in the Quad Cities this weekend, and it has little to do with Bix Biederbecke or Jazz.
Most of the general Quad-Cities public has
probably never heard of the Quad City Music Showcase. This event is put on
every summer by Caleb McCabe, Dream Annabelle and Fairhaven. It began as a high school graduation party and
grew to be an all-day festival, this year boasting 9 local bands. Caleb says it
is his way of trying to bring the QC music scene together for a free music
experience with great bands. Because there is no charge for the event, people
attend who might not normally, and then are exposed to great new bands.
The Music Showcase is held at Veterans'
Memorial Park in Bettendorf. The first band starts at 2 PM, and the show is
over at 10:30 PM. Below is a listing of the bands playing and a little bit of
information about each of them. Each band will play approximately 35 minutes in
order to fit them all in.
